Trogonoptera brookiana (Wallace, 1855)

  Quite common if the Cameron Highlands of Mayasia (as ssp albescens), Sumatra ( ssp trogon), less common on Borneo but still locally common (nominate ssp). A distince race occurs on the islands of Pulau Singkep east of Sumatra (cardinali). Commercially reared and exported in vast quantities annually primarily for "artwork." A fourth race natunensis has been described from Natuna Island but is not well known. T. trojana from Palawan has been considered a subspecies of brookiana by some but is quite distinct.
