Endemic to Jamaica where it is reported to be locally
common; despite this, it is poorly represented in most collections. Strong
sexual dimorphism as in P astyalus
with females possibly mimicing Battus polydamas.
Prefers coastal hills in dryer environments, males frequenting flowers
during the heat of day. Closely related to P
androgeus.
