Very narrow range, from Pakistan and extreme N India
and Kashmir, and may also occur in Tibet. Flies at high altitudes (3500
to 5500 meters) in the Himalayas over rocky and barren landscapes. It is
apparently rather rare and very poorly represented in most collections.
Most ssp. tend to have smaller red spots as in tenuis to the right.
