Papilio nireus (Linnaeus, 1758)

    Common in forests of central and southern Africa. Three ssp. described; aristophontes from the Comoro islands, is sometimes raised to species level. Difficult to distinguish from P sosia (which is less common and occurs in many of the same areas); Females are nearly indistinguisable. Look for subtle differences in the hindwing blue band.
