Found from Indochina and Thailand (ssp pitmani),
Hainan Is (ssp. bowringi), N Philippines (Marinduque and Luzon -ssp.
hipponous),
Palawan and Mindanao / SE Philippines (ssp bazilanus) to Talaud
island (ssp. lunifer). The nomenclature here is not clear to me,
and its relationship to P fuscus is unclear;
the two may prove to be be conspecific.
