Palawan ssp perinthus verso |
A lowland forest species found from Burma south through the Malay peninsula, Sumatra, Java, Borneo, and Palawan. It is rare, unlike its close relatives, and the only place where it is reported to be common is on Palawan (ssp. perinthus). Oddly, this species is rarely seen at puddles like its relatives, and is most frequently taken at flowers (Tsukada). Subspecies include:
arycles - S Burma, Malay Peninsula, Borneo,
Sumatra, Java
perinthus - Palawan
arycleoides - North Thailand
