Found from NE India through N Thailand and Laos to Northern Vietnam, and S China. For years thought to be a rarity, it was recently found to be locally rather common at higher elevations in S Yunnan, China (Mt Hei 2300 meters). It does appear to be rather rare in Thailand, Laos and Viet Nam.
